Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI)

The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is an assessment that shares insights with you on your current skills in navigating cultural differences and commonalities. It can help you build intercultural competence and skills that are a critical part of Fairview’s goals to become an anti-racist and culturally competent organization.

Everyone who takes the IDI is given guidance to further develop their cultural competence and can use it as a tool for self-reflection and self-and-other awareness. By participating in IDI, you will receive a unique individual profile report and an individual development plan.

How it Works

1. Take the IDI assessment

  • The IDI is a rigorously tested and statistically reliable assessment.
  • Consists of a 50-item online questionnaire that takes just 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

2. Attend a 60-minute learning session

We have two options:

  • Open Enrollment: live virtual webinar, best for individual employees.
  • Team Session: best for teams of 8 or more, can be taught virtually or in-person.

3. Receive your unique profile in a private 45-minute meeting

You’ll meet with one of our licensed IDI facilitators in a private, 1:1 meeting where you will receive your IDI profile and individual development plan.

Our Commitment to Confidentiality

Your results are confidential and only shared with you in a private, one-on-one debrief with a licensed IDI facilitator. This means that no one but you and specific IDI licensed facilitators have access to your results. You are not being measured on this assessment and what you do with the information is entirely up to you and your personal goals!

We follow IDI confidentiality guidelines, which you can read more about by visiting IDI confidentiality policy.
